What you need the guardian for
The transfer lock drops unnoticed
It is turned off during a change and never turned back on. The guardian reports it the next day.
An access falls into the wrong hands
With a protection rule, a password is not enough to get the transfer code or to change the nameservers.
Several people in the account
Risky actions need a second person’s approval, and the log shows who triggered what.

How protection rules and guardian work
Set rules
Per action you choose: off, two-factor confirmation or approval by a second person. For the whole account or per domain.
Hold the action
When someone triggers a protected action, it waits for the second factor or the approval. A request expires after 60 minutes.
Compare daily
Once a day the guardian compares transfer lock, renewal and transfer code of every domain with the previous day in our database.

Frequent questions
Does this work for domains that are not with regfish?
No. Both work on the domains in your regfish account, the guardian with their state in our database.
What is the difference from the transfer lock?
The transfer lock is a switch at the registry. If it is lifted through regfish, the guardian reports it the next day; with the protection rule for the transfer code it only drops with a second factor or a second person.
Does an approval block our automation?
Only if you want it to: API keys and DynDNS can be exempted, for every rule of their scope. Rules per domain make it finer.
